Baltimore Police Officer Expands His Family with Second Adoption
Baltimore City Police Sgt. Jason Garber embodies the oath “to serve and protect” both in his profession and personal life. With his wife, Theresa, he is preparing to adopt 4-month-old Jordan, a baby born with drugs in his system. Despite his rough start, Jordan is now healthy and thriving under their care.
This isn’t the Garbers’ first act of compassion. Eleven years ago, they adopted Brian, who was also born with drugs in his system. Unable to have children biologically, the couple has embraced adoption, calling their sons “a blessing.”
Jason was approached by a mentee about Jordan’s situation and didn’t hesitate to step in. “These children don’t have a choice, so we have to be there to protect them,” he said.
Brian, thrilled to have a little brother, shared, “It’s awesome to have someone to play with.” The Garbers are open to growing their family further, with Jason humorously hoping for a daughter.
Jordan’s adoption is expected to be finalized by year’s end, marking another chapter of love and generosity for the Garber family.
