Officer’s Kind Gesture Helps Wisconsin Student Ace Presentation
A University of Wisconsin-Stout student, Trevor Keeney, learned an unexpected life lesson during a traffic stop on November 30. As Keeney rushed to find a friend to help him tie his necktie before a critical class presentation, he was pulled over for speeding by Officer Martin Folczyk of the Menomonie Police Department.
Instead of issuing a ticket, Officer Folczyk offered his assistance, tying Keeney’s tie while also verifying his license and insurance. Keeney left the encounter with a warning—and a perfectly knotted necktie.
The thoughtful gesture paid off: Keeney earned a 92% on his presentation for an outside sales class.
As a bonus, the Menomonie police chief later invited Keeney to the station for a tie-tying tutorial. “I spent about 30 minutes with him, and he taught me,” Keeney told ABC News. “It was cool.”
This feel-good moment highlights the unexpected ways kindness can make a difference.
